Student Expectations
Students using the Tutoring Center are expected to:
- Follow Highline’s Code of Ethics.
- Respect other students’ and tutors’ cultures, beliefs, and identities.
- Honor the privacy of others.
- Respect the learning environment by:
- Speaking at a volume that does not detract from the learning of others.
- Using appropriate language.
- Cleaning up after themselves.
- Not talking on cell phones.
- Keeping their audio devices at a volume that cannot be heard by others.
- Using furniture appropriately.
- Limiting food to light snacks.
- Keeping snacks and beverages away from computer areas.
- Using computers for academic purposes only.
- Come prepared with appropriate materials (textbooks, notes, etc.).
- Sign in and out at the log-in stations.
- Not to expect tutors to help them with their work in an unreasonable amount of time.
- Not to take tutoring center resources outside of the tutoring center.
