Are you interested in being tutored in a class? Are you
interested in being tutored in a class? All you need to do is
register at our log-in computer station when you enter and leave the
center. Log-in computers are located at the main entrance of the
center and the writing center entrance. Your student ID number is
required for signing in and out of the log-in computer. If
the tutoring is at a different location or at a specific time, the
front desk assistant will notify you at the time of registration.
We offer tutoring in a wide variety of
subjects. If we do not offer tutoring in your subject currently,
let us know, we will try to arrange it as soon as possible. Any
student currently enrolled in Highline Community College is eligible
for tutoring. You may receive tutoring for classes you are enrolled
in, classes you plan to take, or you can even brush up on skills
such as math or essay writing. You may be tutored in as many areas
you feel are necessary. Simply remember that each subject may have
different scheduled times and/or locations.
Math and Writing tutoring are available anytime the center is
open, however we highly recommend checking the math tutor schedule
in advance if you are in a higher level math class to insure a tutor
is available for your class level. Note-the center
cannot guarantee tutoring for higher level calculus courses since
many tutors are students in these courses.
Writing tutoring is available all
the hours our center is open, you will need to make an appointment
to see a writing tutor. Four, half-hour appointments, per week can
be made. You may also drop-in for writing help, but space for drop-ins tutoring
is NOT guaranteed. All other subjects are scheduled and posted at
the tutoring center or on this web
site.
